Halloween was not over for us as we watched Rec last night, and Ang Pamana: The Inheritance tonight.
I thought the last few minutes of Rec (the night vision scenes) would never put me to sleep, but Ang Pamana has totally solidified these few facts:
1. Filipino folklore is the scariest thing you will ever encounter.
2. I will never sleep again without windows shut, garlic, salt, a rosary, and my anting-anting.
3. I need to find anting-anting. (The ones I bought in Quiapo last year after my “Bulacan experience” got lost. OMG, my experience happened in Bulacan too, how weird is that?!)
If you’re Filipino, you have HAVE HAVE to see this movie. If you’re in the Philippines, good luck falling asleep ever again. If you’re anywhere else in the world, you’ll still be scared out of your wits, but it might be a little easier knowing that you live 10,000 miles away from a manananggal. (Do they fly international ba?)
And to cap off the night, while peeing in the bathroom after the movie (I had to hold it in all through out since I didn’t want to miss a scene plus I was too scared), the person who left right before me closed the lights of the bathroom thinking no one else was inside! I’m so glad I was already peeing then or else an accident might’ve happened. And of course, it was Caroline Mangosing (who played the White Lady in the movie) who closed them.
Priceless ending to an epic two night horror fest.
I beg you, check out the trailer here and let me know if it doesn’t make you want to watch it.
